What is TNEA?

Tamil Nadu Engineering Admissions (TNEA) is a centralized process conducted by Anna University for admission into B.E./B.Tech. programs in Tamil Nadu. Unlike other engineering entrance exams, TNEA does not require a separate test; admissions are purely based on Class 12 board exam scores in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics. The counselling process is fully online and follows a single-window system to ensure a smooth and transparent seat allocation process.

Types of colleges in Tamil nadu:

Government Colleges: Including institutions like College of Engineering, Guindy (CEG), MIT, ACT, and other Anna University-affiliated government colleges.

Government-Aided Colleges: Partially funded by the government but run by private management PSG, CIT and Thiagarajar college of engineering.

Private Colleges: Private engineering colleges under Anna University are self-financing institutions that follow Anna University's curriculum and regulations but do not receive government funding. These colleges typically have higher fees than government-aided institutions and offer various scholarships and placements based on merit. Around 460+ private engineering colleges are there affiliated under Anna university.

B.E (Sandwitch): 5 Academic years

Eligibility Criteria for TNEA 2025 :

Must have passed the 12th standard (HSC) or equivalent examination with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics.

Must be a native of Tamil Nadu or have studied in Tamil Nadu for at least five years.
